I went with my son and his school group, and it was fantastic. My son absolutely loved it. The only thing is that I felt the time was too short—or perhaps that was just because it was a school visit.

We had a memorable celebration. The experiments were so fun and exciting. The grand finale for the birthday child was the cherry on top. The staff is friendly and patient with the kids. The event room was spacious and adequate. We chose the basic package, it had about 4-5 experiments it was great. The kids learn while having fun. Definitely recommend for kids that like exciting science experiments.

Highly recommend! Came for open lab and everything about it was fun, engaging, and well done! They give you a binder with different experiment instructions and you have an hour to do as many as you’d like! The place is so well organized that you can get through quite a few with a toddler and the child will have a great time! They have great priced packages!

So much fun! Everyone in our family had a blast here. The best part is that they have experiments for a wide range of ages. It was not crowded when we went but even when it got busier the place is HUGE so plenty of room for everyone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Science Camps in Katy/Memorial

Camp Registration & Logistics

What ages can attend Little Beakers science camps in Katy/Memorial?

Little Beakers Katy/Memorial camps accommodate a range of ages 3-12. Campers must be able to use the bathroom independently.

Are all ages in one camp together?

For camps with larger attendance requiring more than one teacher, campers will be divided into even groups by age. When attendance is less, campers will be divided by age at different tables in the same room.

Can siblings stay together?

Yes! You may request that siblings stay together (or apart!) and we will accommodate.

How do I register my child for science camps at the Katy/Memorial location?

First see what themes and dates are available and then click on the corresponding ‘I’m Ready to Book’ links to register. Summer camps fill quickly, so we recommend registering 2-3 months in advance, especially for popular themes like paleontology, marine biology, and robotics.

What are your camp hours and drop-off/pick-up procedures at Katy/Memorial?

Camp times are 9:30am to 12:30pm or 1:30pm to 4:30pm. Drop-off begins no earlier than 10 minutes before start time, and pick-up must occur promptly at end time. Parents/guardians must sign children in and out daily for safety.

What should my child bring to camp each day?

Campers should bring a lunch only if doing both AM and PM camps, a water bottle, and comfortable clothes that are okay to get messy. Little Beakers provides snacks, juice, lab coats, safety glasses, all experiment materials, and take-home project supplies. We recommend closed-toe shoes for laboratory safety.

Scheduling & Availability

When do summer camps run at the Katy/Memorial location?

Summer camps run approximately mid-May through end of August at Little Beakers Katy/Memorial. See the complete summer schedule with available dates, themes, and remaining spots. Popular themes like Paleontology and Marine Biology fill 4-6 weeks in advance.

Do you offer camps during school breaks besides summer?

Yes! Little Beakers Katy/Memorial offers Spring Break camps (5-day programs in March), 4-day Thanksgiving camps, Christmas break camps (3-5 days), and New Year’s camps (3-5 days). Holiday camps often feature seasonal themes.

What happens if my child is sick and misses a camp day?

If your child misses a camp day due to illness, contact the Katy/Memorial location to discuss make-up options. Depending on enrollment and space availability, we may accommodate make-up attendance during a future session of the same or different theme. However, make-ups are not guaranteed for full camps. We cannot offer refunds for individual missed days.

Do you offer partial camp rates?

Yes! Although we recommend attending the full camp for best continuity and value, we understand some simply are not able to attend all days scheduled for a camp for various reasons. Simply input the relevant coupon code displayed during the booking process to receive the reduced rate. Note that the cost per day of camp is more the fewer days you sign up for.

I can only register my child for 2 days of camp. Can you tell me the schedule of activities so I can pick the best days?

No. Although we will make our best effort to ensure campers who are not attending the full camp get to complete those projects/experiments that correspond to the camp’s theme, we cannot guarantee that campers not attending the full camp will complete certain projects or experiments. The schedule of activities for a given camp is fluid for various reasons and is subject to change solely at our discretion.

Camp Curriculum & Activities

How are Little Beakers Katy/Memorial camps different from other summer camps?

Little Beakers provides authentic laboratory science camps in a permanent Katy/Memorial facility with professional equipment. Every camper conducts real experiments using scientific methodology, lab coats, and safety glasses. The curriculum features 6-8 hands-on projects daily with most becoming take-home keepsakes. 19 specialized themes span shark dissections, solar robotics, forensic investigations, and more.

Can my child attend the same camp theme multiple times?

While campers are welcome to repeat favorite themes, most families prefer exploring different themes across multiple weeks. With 19 different camp options spanning marine biology, paleontology, robotics, astronomy, forensics, and more, most children want to experience new topics each week.

What scientific concepts do campers actually learn?

Each themed camp covers 35+ experiments spanning multiple scientific disciplines. Marine Biology camps teach anatomy and microscopy techniques. Robotics camps cover circuits, electricity, and engineering design. Paleontology camps explore geology and fossil formation. All camps incorporate chemistry, physics, and hands-on scientific methodology appropriate to the theme and age group.

Are the dissection camps appropriate for all children?

Dissection camps are led by trained scientists who guide students through proper scientific dissection with appropriate context and respect for specimens. We recommend ages 5+ for most dissection camps, though mature younger children may participate with parent approval. Parents concerned about appropriateness should contact the Cypress location to discuss specific camp content before enrolling.

Pricing & Policies

How much do science camps cost at Little Beakers Katy/Memorial?

Little Beakers 3-hour per day science camps are $235 per child for a 5-day camp. $188 per child for a full 4-day camp (Thanksgiving or Holiday) and $144 per child for a full 3-day Holiday camp. For those who cannot attend all days of the camp, partial camp rates are available. Check out themes, dates and pricing for all camps currently open for registration.

What is your camp cancellation and refund policy?

Cancellation policies offer full refunds if cancelled 14+ days before camp start date (minus 10% administrative fee). Partial refunds will be calculated based on our partial camp rates. Note that cost per day for a partial camp is more the fewer days your child attends camp. Little Beakers reserves the right to cancel camps due to low enrollment, severe weather, or emergencies, in which case full refunds, or prorated as the case may be, are provided.
