What do the Little Beakers staff do and what are my responsibilities?
Can I choose the package?
Yes! Pick from Polymers & Explosions, Dino Parties, Drawing Robots, Forensics, Earthworm Dissection, Shark Dissection, or Frog Dissection. See packages above for details.
Won't the party room decorations get messed up when the kids do their lab session?
No. The kids will do their lab session out in the main lab area. Your party room is just for you to have food, cake and to celebrate!
Safety & Setup
Do you offer drop-off parties?
How early should we arrive?
What options are there for cake, food, drinks and decorations?
Our party packages do not include any food, drinks or decorations. However, you are welcome to bring your own cake, food, and decorations, or have a vendor deliver food.
We offer an optional room setup add-on for $40 that includes tablecloth, small plates, large plates, napkins, utensils and some decorative crinkle cut paper on the tables.
Is there anything we are not permitted to bring to Little Beakers Katy/Memorial?
Yes. Items NOT permitted in our lab include, but are not limited to:
- Alcohol
- Piñatas
- Sparklers
- Confetti
- Anything too big to be accommodated in your party room
- 3rd-party vendors such as face painters, clowns, character actors
You may bring coolers, warmers, food, cake, drinks, paper goods, decorations. If you are not sure about a particular item, please contact us for guidance.
What about allergies or special needs?
Are we expected to clean up after the party?
We only expect a general clean up of the party room. Gather large trash items in trash cans or bags, pile empty pizza boxes and we’ll take care of the rest!

How do I book?
You can book online here. Just choose your package, provide contact details and pay the $50 deposit
Is the $50 deposit refundable?
No. The $50 deposit made to secure your spot is not refundable however we will issue a $50 gift certificate in lieu of a refund. The certificate does not expire and may be used toward the cost of any Little Beakers service at the Cypress, Woodlands or Katy/Memorial locations.
If I estimate 15 kids will attend but only 11 actually attend, will I be charged for 15?
No. When booking you provide us with your estimate for the number of participants. The week of the party we will contact you to get your latest estimate for the number of participants. On the day of the party we only charge for the actual number of participants (unless you are reserving multiple party rooms, in which case a minimum charge of two party rooms will apply).
Do I pay for kids that are not participating?
No. We do not count teens, babies or anyone else at the party who is not participating in the lab session as additional participants for charging purposes.
Do I pay for parents that are just helping their child with the experiments?
No. A parent who is simply helping their child with an experiment is not counted as a participant.
Will one party room accommodate my party?
Our Jurassic party room can seat about 24 kids. If you are certain you will have at least 22 kids attending then we recommend booking two party rooms, if available. When reserving the two rooms we charge the party normally except that there is a minimum charge of two base packages assessed before any add-ons.
Experiments & Take-Homes
What is appropriate for my child's age?
All party packages are suitable for all ages from approximately 3 y.o. to adult. Let your selection be guided by your particular interest.
Use the following as a guide as to who can participate:
- Participants need to be able to follow the main safety rules: keep safety glasses on, don’t put anything in the mouth and no running
- Parent/s of a participant need to complete the participation waiver
- As the host, you have the final say as to who participates as you are paying for additional participants
Do kids actually dissect?
Every child will have a 100% hands-on experience with the specimen using safe and age-appropriate tools and equipment. No scalpels or sharp tools will be used during the session. Any cuts requiring the use of a scalpel or other sharp tool will be performed only by Little Beakers staff. Kids may share the specimen depending on the package selected. See package details.
