Frequently Asked Questions

Workshop Basics

What is the difference between workshops and camps?

Workshops are typically 1-2 day, 2-3 hour intensive sessions with 5+ experiments on specific themes. Camps are also theme-based but typically run multiple consecutive days (3-5 days) with broader curriculum, 3-hour sessions with more experiments (6-8 projects daily) and usually incorporate more projects that span the length of the camp.

What ages can attend workshops and special events?

Most workshops accommodate ages 3-16, with experiments adaptable to different skill levels. Parent Night Out, where offered, typically serves ages 4-13. Check your preferred Little Beakers location for availability and recommended ages.

Do I need to register in advance for workshops?
Yes, advance registration required as workshops have limited capacity. Registration typically opens 4-6 weeks before event dates. Popular themes fill quickly, so early registration is recommended.
What should my child bring to workshops?
Just themselves! We provide all materials, lab coats, safety glasses, and experiments. For Parent Night Out, no food needed—we provide pizza and juice. Wear comfortable clothes that can get messy.

Scheduling & Availability

How often do you offer workshops and special events?

Workshops and Parent Night Out events are scheduled throughout the year on select dates—typically 1-2 per month per location during the school year, more frequently during summer and holidays.

Which locations offer workshops?

Format, themes and availability vary by location. Select your preferred location to view upcoming events and register.

Can I request a specific workshop theme?

Themes are pre-scheduled by location, but we consider requests for future programming. Contact your preferred location to express interest in specific themes and we’ll try to accommodate.

What if a workshop is cancelled?
Little Beakers reserves the right to cancel workshops due to low enrollment or emergencies. Registered families receive full refunds for cancellations. We provide notice as early as possible.

Parent Night Out Details

Do all locations offer Parent Night Out?

No. Currently, Houston-area locations do not offer Parent Nigh Out events. Check Utah locations for their Parent Night Out specifics.

How does Parent Night Out work?
Drop your child off for 2.5 hours (typically 6:00pm-8:30pm) and enjoy a night out! Kids conduct 5-7 experiments with staff supervision, break for pizza and juice, and parents return for pickup.
Is Parent Night Out drop-off or do parents stay?
Parent Night Out is full drop-off—no parent participation required. This is different from Open Lab which requires parent supervision. Parents leave and return at pickup time.
What if my child has food allergies for Parent Night Out?
Inform us of any food allergies during registration. We can provide alternative snacks or you may send allergy-safe food for your child. We serve standard cheese pizza and juice.
Can siblings of different ages attend Parent Night Out together?
Yes, if both fall within the recommended age range (may vary by location but typically 3-13). Staff adapt experiments for mixed ages. This makes drop-off convenient for families with multiple children.

How much do workshops and special events cost?
